Meredith sighed. Edge was always late. She traced one of the knots in the wooden bench with her thumb while she waited. She heard footsteps stopping at the bench, and recognized the bright orange he usually wore. Meredith looked up and smiled. Edge smiled down at her. He turned and waved goodbye to Isle, who must have accompanied him. It was one of Meredith's free afternoons, so they always planned meetups when they could. Edge sat down on the bench next to her, and she pecked his cheek. "How are you my clementine?" He blushed slightly, and smiled up at her. "Youll never guess what happened in the woods." She froze up hearing the story. WHat kind of monster would do that to people? But the news of a monster travelling to the kingdom snagged her attention. Was she coming for Gracie? racie had been nice while she was there, for a monster. But Meredith hadn't seen her in a while. Meredith leaned into Edge's shoulder, listening to him talk about his wild adventures outside of the city. She was wearing her uniform, she had just removed the apron and gloves. "Hey Edge, did you fix my other uniform?" She asked, looking at him from the corner of her eye. He froze and smiled sideways. "Welll, about that..." She sat up. "You didnt lose it, did you?" He shook his head. "I had to give it to the monster girl." Meredith looked at him pointedly "What was wrong with what she was wearing?" He looked away and smiled slyly. "She wanted to get into the castle." Meredith grinned. "There's only one reason a monster would want into the castle." Edge looked back at her. "Yep. I have a feeling something in this world is about to change."
