The tribute finale pt. 2

The townspeople were beyond happy to see them, and Edge's neighbor, who owned the bar in town, offered free drinks all night. The regaled their friends with stories of the forest, of their new monster friends. Everyone was rejoice to hear they would be fixing the kingdom, since the king's horrible rule was over. Everyone began to chip in with their thoughts, like who the new royals would be since the princes left, or what they would do with all of the territory they took over. Darling had already thought this over, and he explained that there wouldn't be another king. The four of them, along with Meredith, would each watch over a certain part of the kingdom. Education, land, all of those things would be taken care of. And the people who lived in this kingdom could be free to do what they wanted, as long as it was peaceful. It wasn't until much later in the night that the messenger arrived. He had horns, and a tail, but an unfamiliar face. He handed Emerald a scroll, before opening his large scaled wings and taking off into the night sky. Emerald sat down on a wall outside of the bar, relishing the cool crisp air as a break from the hot, energetic air inside. Emerald unrolled the scroll, and moved over until he was under the light of a small street lamp. He pulled the wax seal off, and began to read. There were several pieces of news enclosed in the letter, which was signed by Anonymous, the apparent princess of monsters that he had become friends with in the forest. SHe had written that they had all gotten back to the kingdom safely, and Invert and the princes had already settled in. There was a small envelope attached to this paragraph, and the pulled in off of the wax and set it aside for later. Reading farther, he found three lines where people could sign. One was for peace between the kingdoms. The other was to give back all that was stolen between them. The last was for eternal friendship. Anonymous had already signed all of the boxes, along with the scribbled signatures of Ace, Lucas, Chaos, Invert, Gracie and a few more names Emerald knew, but had never met, Like Ene, Dartus and Wren. He smiled, and called Darling outside. Darling of course brought Edge and Isle, but that was ok. Emerald let them read the scroll, and watched them light up. He then picked up the envelope he had rested against a small stone, and pulled it open. The other three sat closer so they could see, and smiled even brighter. Enclosed in the envelope were small photos of the group. There was a picture of Invert getting to know some of the monster guards. One of Ace and Anonymous strutting around in some crazy bright outfits, (with Lucas sitting on the side, presumably watching.) And even a picture of Lucas and Chaos kissing, that looked like it was snuck by someone hiding around a corner. Emerald handed the photos to hi friends, and looked up at the night sky. They passed a pen around, and each wrote their name on the line, right in the crowded jumble of signatures. Emerald then rolled up the scroll, and tucked it away. Things were looking up for them.
