opinion on jumpin w/ western saddle

i know there's not so many horsey peeps around here, but i still wanted to share my opinion, and i'm open to hearing out any other opinions, really. it's just something i wanted to talk about. so, i think jumping with a wetsern saddle is okay, as long as it's actualy necessary, it's a small jump, the horse is prepared, and it's not done frequently. but if you actually know you're gonna have to jump your horse, it's maybe even better to take your horse bareback than with a heavy, big and not really flexible, western saddle. not gonna go with the NaTuRaL hOrseMaNShiP talk around here, but if you NEED to have a saddle to ride a horse, you probably shouldn't ride a horse, definetely not jump one. i don't think there's any kind of an issue riding and/or jumping a horse bareback; as long as you actually know how to keep your balance and absorb movement to avoid hitting your horses back with your own spine, and your horse is properly muscled up and knows how to carry himself, you're good to go! probably way better than using a saddle that's not supposed to be used for jumping. of course, a **properly fitted* saddle helps to put the rider's weight out more evenly, and is quite useful, ngl. but propetly riding bareback will definetly not hurt a horse as much as improperly fitted or used tack might.
