He is a robot working dog, for therapeutic purposes. He helps mentally ill patients with soothing scents from the sensors on his ears, and also uses a calming protein from his chest to calm them or lull them to sleep. the glowing on his side is a scent to make those who are ill, happy, releasing a scent that would usually be favored by the patient.
