Nerd time

Just Shapes and Beats is a really good game and I'm just gonna ramble about it so unless you don't care enough about spoilers or you already played the game then please don't read


I absolutely LOV E D the graphics and animations like holy fucking shit the characters were so bouncy and clean and so were the props. i love how literally everything synced up it was all really smooth and clear,, big props to the animators they all did a really hecking good job. and let's just agree that the SONGS were very good, I love how the fights and attacks sync with the music it's so well done,, now sometimes it was off timing but timing shit is really hard. Or it might just be my computer and I'm being a dumbass rn. And the worlds/areas were cool aswell, shit have y'all seen the fucking volcano that level was actually my favorite one,, the spooky ambience made me tense.. and that whole chase sequence with the cacti/flowers was hella clever,, where you could see one jumping into the level with Square. Or when it used the travel line to try to get to the player,, I loved it. So fucking good hhhhHFHFGDGEFDTS,
And uhh, now I talk about the characters wink wink
OHHHHHHK A Y,,, the main antagonist (who I'm going to call Blixer because most of the fandom calls him that plus it's a cool name hwhhwhw) is just a complete badass. Along side the other three side antagonists.. their themes,, their animations,,, it's all yes.
And also the beginning with Blixer,, no not his boss reveal,, BUT HIS FUCKING CACTUS FORM. LIKE ?? I ALREADY SAW SPOILERS OF HIM SOMEWHAT CONTOLLING THE DANCING FUCKERS BUT I DIDNT KNOW THAT HE WAS O N E OF THEM
Also he fucking,,,, smashed his own head willingly into the triangle shard. That actually shocked me. Seeing blood (or..pink blood..) in such a cute game was just... sorta new to me. And he also got stabbed again near the end of the game.. what an idiot hhghfh,,
And how he sometimes smiles maniacally,, like after he got stabbed as a cactus or in Final Boss.. he's fucking crazy. I love that small touch hfhdgFHGGFDG
But that all gives me a shitty masochist headcannon,, even though when he died he was literally crying so,, idk what I'm even thinking of at this point. And I just love how he plays a fucking electric guitar at some points of the game. like,, his rock theme is apperantly "boss badass theme" which is hella appropriate for this character mhm.
And I love how he most likely learned nothing and he just went on a killing streak for the hell of it. What an asshole.
And the protagonist,, I don't understand their purpose one bit, besides bringing the Treeangle to life or smth,, but hell they're cute. I also love how the friends love them so much it's,, perfect.. adorable
The way the helicopter hugged the square and how Cube cared about them so much was adorable. And I love how the ship just liked to splash water on them it's was c U tE

Even as a game with no voice acting or dialogue,, it's still really, REALLY good. I had an absolute BLAST playing this game! It's one of my favorite rage-inducing bullet hell games. However I didn't fully understand the story,, but whenever I think of something.. I'm still going to keep it to myself because I'm a dick. Ah whatever
And I really hate how short the game is.. I feel like it could've been much longer. But it was the dev's decision, not mine
I give Bezerk Studio's game an 8/10. Good game go play it
