so like

theres this kid in my class that draws anime and stuff and like

e w

im not saying that drawing anime is bad or anything, but

if you don't know how to fully draw anime (aka trying to trace or heavily reference from shows like dragon ball z) or want to progress drawing in a anime-like style (then proceed but you need to learn the fundamentals) or want a different art style, then please stop drawing anime

if people want to learn how to draw anime, (aka my friend), they really need to know the fundamentals on the human body, learn how to shade and stuff, and try not to heavily rely on drawing similar things in shows

idk

it just bothers me

he made a "original character", it legit just looks like goku with weird bubblegum hair its just so aahghj

i just wanted to rant i guess??

i dunno

@sandyBeepis i mean

people can do whatever with they're styles and such, i don't really mind

im not really telling people to stop drawing anime, they can do whatever they want

but if people want to fully personalize on how to draw good anime or level up they're skills,, then they should learn and practice how to draw anatomy and they can stylize they're own unique type of anime style

although i don't enjoy seeing people drawing and basing their characters /heavily/ off of anime characters (or any characters for that case) I don't think they should just stop drawing. It's kind of like telling someone who wants to compose and is basing their original pieces off of mozart or other composers to stop composing or trying to compose. People need motivation and i can admit, when i started drawing i wasn't that original but I don't regret basing my characters heavily off of characters like sans and stuff because it brought me to learn about anatomy and try better. Even if a beginning artist doesn't know the fundamentals of anatomy, should they really stop drawing and give up and spend the time to learn that stuff when they're just experimenting with their style and characters?
