Recently watched evangelion Something this show does really well is having characters whom you can relate to deeply, it forces you to reflect on your own life and struggles. Youβre not only analyzing the characters on screen, you're also analyzing yourself. The show actively encourages you to do so with these scenes where the characters spew out their raw thought and emotion, as if you have a front row seat to their mental breakdown. It's a bit of a fourth wall break and it's pretty kewl If youβre ever interested, the show touches on human dependency and how different people view happiness, all wrapped up in a few existential questions. I myself struggle a lot with self worth and so I tend to flock to others for validation, which also happens to be something the main character does, so it was kinda weird seeing that play out Anyways, this show gave me a new perspective on my own struggles. In short, I tend to view love as a transaction, βif I show you affection you must show it backβ, most of the time the other party doesnβt, not because they want to deny me love, but because they donβt know how to love me, and so I am left with this emptiness which manifests as pain. The supposed solution the show provides is: learn to love yourself, because only you can truly understand yourself, no one will know you more thanβ¦ you, unfortunately. So practice loving yourself and happiness should come naturally, only then will you have the patience and energy to love others :] 10/10, neat series I still hate myself. also is it me or is the editor super laggy now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erG5GmNWbv8
