Tips&Clarification on Sushi Ranking

Ok! So I decided to make this post because there seems to be a bit of a misunderstanding on what it means to earn sushi ranking, and what results in you earning it. While the Terms and Conditions page already describes the gist of earning sushi, this is more of an insight/elaboration on the what, why, and how the moderation team decides to give sushi ranking to users. (With that being said, please keep in mind that all the mods have different preferences from each other and what may work for one mod may be different for another.) So here are some things to keep in mind: -While the minimum requirement for sushi is to have at least 5 posts above kiddie pool, you need to show CONSISTANCY of high effort/quality throughout your profile. Basically if the mass majority of your posts consist of half effort doodles/ramblings and you're only making quality pieces just to get sushi, you're less likely to get the ranking as soon as you met the basic brief. -Having a variety within your artwork/profile is helpful. What this means is that while you can easily get sushi with say just 5 posts in still waters or whirlpool, if these pieces show variation in the subject matter as well as mood/aesthetic, this will get you a better chance at earning sushi. For example, if you have 3 different still water posts of the same oc in a 3 quarter view from the shoulder up and 2 basic whirlpool animations of the same oc, this is less likely to get you sushi compared to something like 1 highly detailed open ocean animation, 3 still water posts with different subjects/characters each, and 1 detailed whirlpool animation. -Even if you have 5 pieces above kiddie pool, if the majority of those posts are collaborations/continuations with other users, this will not get you sushi. Earning sushi is the result of showing off the talent & skills of your OWN artwork. If most of the posts you have above kiddie pool are from working with someone else, you're basically asking for 100% credit for something that you only put partial work into. -I know this is one is going bother some of yall but it needs to be said. Whining and complaining to the mods about you (or another user) not having sushi is a quick way to NOT getting sushi. I understand that it's super frustrating, but I assure you that having a negative attitude about it/making other people feel bad is not the way to go. Sometimes users get it quicker then others and that's ok. As long as you're trying your best and show growth/improvement in your work, you'll get it at some point. And please note that there's a difference between recommending someone getting sushi vs demanding someone should have it. And with all of that being said, if you actually read the entire description and not just skimmed through it, please add the phrase "Lemon drop sundae" in the comment section. Thank you all for listening and have a nice day/night!
