I'm starting to think that

Birece from Dark Deception was a gold digger. I mean, listen to her diaries. She said something about marrying her husband for money,, calling him a "fat pig" and that she "has a wealthy husband to take care of me". Who??? Says that?? About their partner???
I'm also into that theory that Malak could've been that husband,, I mean.. the term "malak" is a Semitic word for "angel". However, Malak himself is a demon hellbent on killing the player.
And maybe they were having an affair of some sort, and that's why they argue in-game like an unhappy couple.
I don't know where I'm going with this train of thought-
