Chosen one: episode one: season one

Gabby walked down the stone path, looking at the setting sun. There were traces of orange and pink in the clouds as she made her way down the hill. the taste in her mouth, left over from the burnt lasagna, was gross. she felt something crunch under her feet and looked down to see she had reached the sandy beach of the lake.
She took quick strides as she watched the moon come up. Settling on to the ground, she gases across the vast lake. the sounds of the waves and the birds were comforting, as she had heard them her entire life.
She worried, as her father was a few miles away, in the palace. He was trying to keep the king, who had been poisoned, alive. Both of Gabby's parents were healers. they had wanted her to also become one, but then realised she would never be able to, as she wasn't good with blood. they still wanted her to do something important. Gabby really just wanted to go and live in a cottage and not do anything, but her parents lived in a cottage and still did stuff, so.
Right as the moon passed next to the peak of the mountain, Gabby felt a jolt in her chest. She had to curl into herself to get tried of it at any degree. Eventually, as she panicked and listened to the waves, she fell into sleep.
She had weird dreams of running and dark skies. a golden sword and a blue lady. She just kept running away from the things chasing her.
