A ramble about the Scrimbles
A QUICK CONTENT WARNING: Mentions of Cannibalism and implied mentions of SA. -------------------------------- So the past 3 drawings have all been of characters I’ve made for the rival party of a dnd campaign I run. There’s about 6 rivals in total but I wanna talk about the three I drew on here. The first guy is a flower mantis thri-kreen who’s a rune knight fighter. He’s one of Sagittarius’(The god of Freedom, who is not known for responding nor interacting with many ‘mortals’) Aliknak’s his name, and his entire backstory is whacky. He’s the son of scorpio (The Goddess of Power), ended up resenting her, and began to follow Sagittarius. He’s got some pretty steadfast morals, and is meant to be a voice of reason and compassion for the rival party. Then there’s Pebbles, the Owlin Bard/Barbarian. He’s got a massive temper and is extremely passionate about nearly everything. He used to be the bard of one of the party members’ old pirate crews, but disavowed them as captain once they joined the Monster Hunter’s Guild. He’s a bit of a pessimist, but does genuinely try and find the good in everyone he meets. He’s also the leader of the rival party, as he’s usually got a plan for nearly anything thrown at him, and on top of that, he’d die to protect his party. He’s got a good heart, he’s just very easily agitated. Then there’s Violet. She’s the party’s most recent addition, and is extremely dubious morally. She’s a Cnidarian (Homebrew jellyfish race), and a Skinshifter Sorcerer. She had an encounter with a very powerful being and lost herself in the process. Additionally, she gained the power to take on the features of the creatures she ate. Eventually, it led to her cannibalizing her husband and going into hiding for quite a while. She was, and by all accounts still is, one of the top surgeons of her time. Not a lot is known about her aside from that though because it’s implied she has really heavy ties with Ophichus(god of secrets), and because she lays fairly low. She still cannibalizes others, mostly targeting folk in bars who are arguably more morally depraved than her (The kind of people to slip a sedative in a drink.) She's Reliable in talent and skill but also a wild-card in motives for the most part. However, the kind of people she'd actively seek and prey on are extremely consistent. (She rarely ever even hurts folk that she has no intent of eating) The rival party only let her join because of John Doe (a character I haven't doodled yet, who's close to Pebbles), who recommended they be kept because they were no danger to the party. I'll talk about the other 3 party members at a different time, Likely after I draw them.
