losing faith in my country
(Ignore spelling errors it's 2:49 AM where I live and I don't feel like looking through this. good night.) We have so many covid cases. It's not like it's spreading because of some anomaly, it's because some idiots want their freedom and won't wear a mask. And because of this, I cannot leave. I am stuck until I am 18 and in control of my life. When I am 18 (2024), I will have 2 options: A. If covid cases in America are down, I will be able to leave this place and go to another country for a better life. B. If we are still like this in 4 years (which I think is definitely possible), I am going to kill myself, as it's hard for me to live in a country with all of these problems. I just want to see my friends again. In person. Even if I can't hug them, I want to SEE them. I was told months ago that we'd have high school. But now I hear we might not. The problem is, we do not learn when we do remote learning. The teachers just assign things and leave. They have children and other responsibilities and no time for video calls. I have learned some independence on projects due to this, but I think I still need some guidance. I want my first year of high school to be memorable. Now I think my life is ruined. This past April, I was supposed to go on a trip for spring break. Of course, this didn't happen. Why? because of the good old United States! Now we plan to go in 2021, but I personally highly doubt that cases will be down by then. This country does not know how to regulate citizens. What's funny is that the patriotic, "America is the best" people are the ones not wearing masks and not social distancing. PEOPLE, if you love your country, WEAR A MASK so that we all can have a better life.
