PROOFREAD MY ESSAY lol Anne Frank Argumentative Essay “A Tragedy Reveal: A Heroine’s Last Days” from Elements of Literature, by Ernst Schnabel, is the absolute greatest informational piece of literature to be included in the next edition of the Elements of Literature. The article, “A Tragedy Reveal: A Heroine’s Last Days,” discloses what happens to Anne Frank after she and the others living in the secret annex were under the captivity of the Gestapo. I chose the “A Tragedy Reveal: A Heroine’s Last Days” because it appeared like everyone already knew about Anne Frank when she was hiding, but not when she was captured. Another reason why I chose this article is for the educational value it delivers to the reader. Finally, It shows Anne's optimism and how she felt about the concentration camps. “A Tragedy Reveal: A Heroine’s Last Days” extends the reader's knowledge of Anne Frank and her experience in the concentration camps. I can support because, in the article, the author explains the various concentration camps Anne Frank had been transported. In addition to that, you learn that Anne stayed optimistic. To support this, the author states, "The food was bad, we were always kept on the run, and the guards all screamed 'faster, faster!' but Anne was still happy." The author also extends the reader's knowledge of Anne by presenting the reader with direct quotes from people that know Anne Frank. Finally, “A Tragedy Reveal: A Heroine’s Last Days" does an astonishing job with exposing the readers to Anne Frank's experiences subsequently after she was discovered in the secret annex. The article, “A Tragedy Reveal: A Heroine’s Last Days,” is also completely non-fiction. My first piece of evidence for this claim is that the author's statement: "I interviewed forty-two people who knew Anne or who survived the ordeal that killed her." This shows that the author did his research and made sure his claims were valid. One major point that supports this claim is while the author debunks the play's betrayal of what happened when the occupants of the secret annex were discovered by the Gestapo. According to the author: "What really happened on the August day [when Anne was captured] fourteen years ago was far less dramatic." Since the article is non-fiction, it wouldn't have the same information as the play. Conclusively, the author exposes many of the truths about what happened to Anne Frank and what really happened prior to her being arrested by the Gestapo. You may think that the "Diary of Anne Frank" tells it's readers the true story about the secret annex, but it's exaggerated for drama and some of the characters and events are fake or exaggerated. You may be under the impression that having a book that the whole class has to read together is a good thing because it makes everyone in the class involved, but many of the readers are above twelve years old and at an age where they need to be more independent when it comes to reading. I know you may believe that the "Diary of Anne Frank" is more in-depth, however, the "Diary of Anne Frank" is a very popular story and everyone knows what the story is because it's been around for years and in almost every language, but everyone doesn't know what happened to the occupants of the secret annex after they were arrested. Therefore, “A Tragedy Reveal: A Heroine’s Last Days” is the most unblemished choice for the next edition of the Elements of Literature. It would be very detrimental to exclude this choice because it's a phenomenal, informational, short and mind-boggling article. I urge you to agree with my final decision to include “A Tragedy Reveal: A Heroine’s Last Days” in the upcoming edition of the Elements of Literature.
