The Moon Miner
Designed by Stephen F. Oken, the moon miner Is a freighter-mounted plasma beam used to turn unwanted materials into plasma, leaving behind only the materials that are desired. Originally, the beam was designed with the internet of creating a freighter-mounted weapon that could easily bore through high-grade freighters, as the possibility of war with other countries freighters was seemingly impending. It was designed as a plasma rail-gun. Luckily, the conflict between countries freighters never happened. But, with the discovery of the "Earth" element, copper, It was capable of being optimized to create a continuous plasma beam without the machine over-heating. It can still bore through freighters, it just doesn't have nearly as much mobility as it did before. The machine also was modified to allow for an adjustable plasma system, which could target specific elements and burn it into plasma, though it can't harvest materials with low-melting points.
