idk if ive ever announced my accomplishment earlier this year. or that i even had a steer lol. (he was a market steer and i knew this before i got him, he is dead and was raised for meat.) i got kash on the 21st of may 2019, and would raise him until feb 2, 2020 when he would be actioned off. he started out in the high 400's and six months old (maine anjou x simmental cross if anyone is interested) and was the last pick out of all steers. i was also the only one who got dragged by my steer lol. (you pick a number out of a cup and i got number 10. the last number.) he gained up to the weight of around high 1200's (i cant remember exactly) we both went through a lot of halter training and pulling and blood and tears and sweat. a lot of fucking sweat bc holy fucking shit is it fucking hot in texas during texas working with a unhalter broken steer. but anyways. one of the challenges was his ringworm, (it doesnt include an actual worm. idk why its called that.) his lice, and dealing with him. when i got him he didnt know what anything was, he only knew how to eat, drink, and walk. it was a good experience gaining his trust and getting him to know me and eventually raising him to be a reserve champion steer!
