I honestly still kind of like Toonator but there were/are many glaring issues. First is the editor. I appreciate the simplicity but it's become a bit outdated and is hard to use if you're planning on making something really detailed. Some may see this as a good thing because it means it's more challenging to make something super detailed, while on Drawn it's easier. Toon also has some major bugs like the invisible lines and the anon glitch, while Drawn doesn't seem to have any of those major bugs. Drawn also has more fun tools meaning more experimentation oppurotunities. The second is/was the controversy. it seemed like there was some new drama every week and I won't say that Drawn hasn't had its fair sharing of drama but it isn't as prevalent on here. My reason for leaving Toon was mainly just to start over but I still had some gripes about the site even before Drawn existed.

like both. toon is more toxic in general but has a nice editor. drawns p chill and while it's a little buggy, it's way calmer. i see em as equal.

i didnt really have a problem with toonator, i didnt really see much of it and i was kinda invisible there
but the one of the bigger problems i did have was the editor, while i absolutely love messing with the old brush on there its just limits what i wanna and can do in terms of animation

theyre both good art websites, but drawn has some more useful features than toon, (mostly layers) in my eyes, if what the developer of toon is saying is true and we're getting layers and extra features on there, toonator may become better than toon also i like the community on drawn way better than toon's

i like drawn better in my eyes, the editor is a bit confusing as I'm finding new features every few months or so but even with the basics of it you can create spectacular things, the community here is extremely more positive and more kid friendly since there are actual rules here with mods who are active unlike toonator, it is a smaller community tho thats because it hasnt been out as long as toonator and its still in beta phase. toonators community is very rough and its even worse since mods are pretty much never active, it has a bigger community too so its harder for the mods to look thru everything as well so theres a lot of toxic or nsfw posts. also the editor is so garbage on there, it takes forever to create something that could be made in almost half the time on drawn. the biggest upside to all of it is its seniority, its been up for longer so even with it dying its probably more active than drawn, it does have a lot of spammers but also since its been up for so long more people have been able to get greater and greater skill on it so it has way more better animators and artists on the site

In my opinion I maybe joined toon when it started to die, but I found how nice the community was back in 2016 or so, now I left it. Because it was getting so controversial and toxic, I couldn't handle it anymore. Drawn has a very nice community with a lot of toon veterans, and you actually have to try, because you can't apply for a higher rank anymore.
