Story Chapter Fifteen: New Girl
Nerin was studying the super moon ritual when she got a text from the apprentice priestess group chat. It was from Pearl, probably the most annoying of the others. Pearl was the richest and also the worst when it came to purity. She believed that the High Mermaids were the only ones allowed to call themselves mermaids. The text said: 'come to the temple. I caught a very interesting surface dweller." Nerin replyed, "What?" so did Cordelia. Cordelia also said ," Sure. I've never seen a human before," Pearl replied, "Oh, she's not a human," "Well, then i'll come too," texted Nerin. Nerin closed her book and swam through the door. She swam from the dorms to the temple. Guesing that Pearl would've probably taken a dweller to the 3rd level, thats where Nerin headed. Nerin saw the pink of Pearls tail at a ddoor. So, she swam over there. And saw a pretty girl in the bed at the corner. She was asleep and had green and purple in her hair. She looked human enough. "Why doesn't she have a bubble around her head?" asked Nerin "She's part mermaid. She is also part pixie and part nymph," said Pearl, a smile over her face. "Wait, like that prophecy?" asked Nerin "Yep. she's still filthy though," said Pearl, her nose crinkling "She is who she is," said Nerin "Have you told anyone?" "Yeah, i told Madame Ori," said Pearl "What did she say?" asked Nerin "She said that we would keep the girl here and teach her," said Pearl, her pink curls swishing in the water as she swam closer to the girl. "What are you doing?" asked Nerin "Just looking. She is really pretty," said Pearl "Maybe I'll be able to keep her," "Okay, that's just not something you should say. She is also a living, sentient being. You can't have her," said Nerin "I can if I want," said Pearl "Well, I still say that you shouldn't talk like that," said Nerin Then, the girl's eyes opened and she started thrashing. She was trying to get out of the bed, which kept her stuck. "Where am I?" the girl asked, "Who are y'all?" "I'm Nerin, this is Pearl. We're in the Temple of Coral." said Nerin "And who are you, mudslinger?" said Pearl "I'm Ina Silver. And I want to go home," said the girl, baring her teeth "Oh, you think your teeth will scare me?" asked Pearl, showing off her significantly sharper teeth. Nerin pulled Pearl back, "Hey, be nice! She's our guest!" "Why am I even here?" asked Ina "Because, she thought you might be in a prophecy,:" said Nerin "Well, she is! She even said her last name was Silver!" said Pearl "Okay, what prophecy?" asked Ina "Well, we can't tell you. Only a teacher could," said Nerin "Wait, yall are students?" asked Ina "Yeah..." said Nerin "Then why are you even here?" asked Ina
