The scheme of pink blue and white gives trans people something to relate to. Many people watching shows can easily relate to the main character. For example: a little girl can easily relate to a princess. A little boy can easily relate to a knight or something in a series so on so forth. As humans grow, our brain tries to find connections and relate to almost anything, it's litterally why people like stuff, because they relate and become emotionally invested. But there is little to no correct trans representation in popular media today. This is why people will take a character and make them relate. I agree that it can be toxic, esspecially if the creator addresses it or specifically requests for that not to be a head cannon, but most of the time it does no harm and shouldn't be a problem. Esspecially with a pokemon like sylveon. Pokemon has consistently smashed gender roles for years, having Jessie and James crossdress, or pokemon pretend to be a certain gender to get what they want, there are so many things I could bring up! The concept of a pokemon being trans is more of a light joke, I don't think anyone actually heavily is trying to imply that sylveon is trans, that would be like me saying my cat is trans. (Also ash is japanese because he's from a region based off of a place in japan.)
