fake smiles with
real tears
hot running along crevices held by your
pinned up expression like
a billboard about to collapse

MORE THINGS YOU THINK ABOUT WHEN IT HAPPENS
the room you
go into has lost
as many lives as it has
saved

THINGS YOU DONT LIKE AFTER IT HAPPENS
she still
breathes
and twitches
just like she did
when she was here

THINGS TO THANK
the vet
who youll never forget because
she has the power to take
away pain
