The tribute chapter 18. Rotor

He tells us his name is Rotor. We tell him it's a lovely name. He tells us the leaves are lovely. We tell him we agree. He tells us to go to sleep. We oblige his commands. We remember nothing but him, and the forest. Nothing. nothing. n o t h i n g. He tells us to hide our eyes. We cover our faces. He tells us to go to sleep. We fall asleep immediately. He tells us to ignore our leader, we do... Isle didn't know what was wrong. First Darling, that Edge and now Emerald. EVen the soft healer was acting like a stiff machine. He had noticed something though. They were all wearing necklaces. They were made of a clear-purplish stone, and looked like they could fit together. You know those "Bff" heart necklaces that fit together? It looked like that, but maybe it would make a cloud? A flower? Isle didn't know. If he tried to ask them about it, they ignored him. If he tried to grab it, they would jump away like they had the reflexes of a lynx. Even is Isle tried to brush their hair away from their eyes, or put his arm around their shoulders like he used to do. He gave up, and started walking behind them. They set up final camp, and Isle watched the stars come out, counting them one by one. Rotor has run out of pieces. We can take him to our destination. Isle woke up at midnight, panting and sweating. His friends were gone, empty sleeping bags lay beside him. He felt them with his hands. Cold. They had been gone a while. He stood up and walked a circle around the clearing. Isle was worried for his friends. They had all met as children, grew up together. They had made this adventurers guild to use all of their skills together, little did they know they would be hired by royalty. They had been sent on this particular quest y King Fusion, for some kind of spell ingredients. They had retrieved them, o course, but he still questioned it. Isle finished his lap of the clearing, and sat down on his beanbag. His emotions took over, and liquid poured down his face. He heard a crackle of leaves, and looked up to see his friends. His first shock was their necklaces, which glowed and floated around their necks. Than was the bone chilling smiles on their faces as they stood around him. Their eyes were mottled in black, but purple shone through and lit up their white teeth. FInally, the last shock, was the ghostly figure standing behind them.
