COMPLETE CHAPTER 1

[A1] Prologue: A Family of Six To a Family of Three [A1] The loud stamp of boots from the streets is what first woke the youngest sibling, long platinum-gold locks clung to his forehead as he heard his brothers shuffling about the room. ``We need to get out of here.`` One of them spoke, he recognized Fredrick's calm and stern voice ringing through the room, his sensitive ears being clouded with the march of the German army. ``But how are we going to escape them? We were sentenced to be put in the army you know.`` His other brother, Alarik spoke up, he sounded distraught. Alarik felt his heart race, his eyes scanned the room and landed on his younger brother. He knew the smaller sibling had gone through worse than him. He was never really comfortable about his own past. Yet he only sighed, feeling his fear weigh his shoulders. Yeah, he remembered the day too well. The day he was brought into this family. The day his other brothers died. The day he swore to always be happy.. Alarik was five at the time, having three brothers including Fredrick, always having a big rush of energy as he ran through the streets with his elder siblings. He wouldn't like to admit it but when Frederick was younger, he was like a kitten being dragged into a bucket of water in the midst of December! Alarik was talking with the eldest of them Atrias. ``Will we be able to see the dogs again?``Alarik was bouncing happily at his brothers heels, who gave a hearty chuckle. `` Of course! Those Hunde (Translation: Dogs) will always be glad to see us, let's hope they're not as hungry as last time, no?`` Atrias looked down at him with a warm smile and Alarik could remember returning it. Yet... As soon as they came to the kennels where those bouncing puppies were from yesterday which he vaguely remembered. Were dead. Skewered more like it, their mouths askew, caked with cold, dry, and dripping blood, their eyes hung loose as if they were half asleep, and the slow eerie breathing of the mother. A low growl came loose, and next thing they knew, the beast hurtled at them and Atrais reacted quicker than Alarik could even see. The mother was a big burly dog, with some gold tan along her sides but she was foaming at the mouth like a monster with-- Rabies! Alarik almost screamed to warn his brother, but he hadn't noticed the puddling blood at his feet and a soft whine from the hound. Alarik looked over, and his brother lay there, eyes wide, his body jerking and trembling like nothing he'd ever seen before as he gurgled and sputtered his eyes widened at the sight of his younger sibling as he reached over choking to get out words before the hand fell on his leg, cold and limp. Alarik screamed, as he saw the dog make its way towards him, growling and snapping at him, as he felt dread weigh him, down make him freeze in place from fear. [REST IN THE COMMENTS]
