"What would you do if you lost a student-" "I told you. I don't refer to them as my students seeing as I care for them and I'm the only parental figure they have, sir." "Right.." Z narrowed his eyes at the smaller man who stood in front of him, insistant that Z understood his stance on the children. "In that case, if you lost one who would you replace them with?" There was silence between the two for a moment. "Excuse me?" Carls head tilted slightly, wanting to beleive he haddn't just heard that. "Did you not hear me?" Z raised an eyebrow. Carl shook his head slightly as if to clear his brain like an etcha-sketch. "No, I heard you sir. I'm just wondering what the hell your thinking- replacement?! For my children?!" Z placed a finger to his lip in thought. "Your right... finding one would be incredibly hard. Your...'children' are quite extrordinary." Carl tried to keep his hand from shaking as the urge to stim surged through his body. "I-Is this a joke, sir? Am I not getting something? My kids- cant just be replaced. They aren't just your precious war weapons, they are children who cant even comprehend the world yet! If you think for a second that I would let anything happend to them, well then I am afraid you don't know me as well as you thought you did." Z chuckled as Carl finnished his heartfelt speech. "Interesting... even though this class is specifically mark two of this kind... because the other one-" Carl cut him off growing more furious by the second, but having a hard time deciding how to put it into words he only choked out a measly: "That's- that's enough." Z nodded slightly. "That isn't your place to decide, but since your so disturbed I will let it slide. But before you leave, tell me. What would you personally do if one of them died?" Carl stood a moment his chest rising and falling quickly. "I..I would scream." He confirmed with a nod and very quickly left.
