Happiness
There are times when I wish I could reset myself, or my actions, or even my words. Not these, this time; When I look at my reflection, what do I see? Who? I'm not sure exactly. I've never known, a facade has always been in placement of who I'm supposed to be. Having that taken off, it's an ugly underside. Well, if I choose it to be. It's ugly in the way I mess up, the ways I've redone things over and over, getting less mild sometimes, or starting all the way back at the start once the 'get out of jail free card' is dealt. How it's dealt? I'd say pure luck. Or maybe this game isn't about luck. Maybe this isn't even a game to begin. It never was. It's not about luck, it's about experience. It's something I've discovered quite recently; or maybe I'd known it all along, and something inside me finally clicked. It's not about dodging the obstacles in the way, or even accidentally creating them on your own.. it's about enduring the journey, going all in or all out. If done without care, the road's pavement will need work, over and over, if the cracks are only filled over and over. But in order to walk the yellow brick road to get to the emerald city, it's ABSOLUTELY necessary to walk the road, pave it well, walk along it as if it were as valuable as a real golden road.. because it is. It isn't just an average road, it's the road to happiness. Stop drowning when you have a boat waiting for you, save yourself and get in. Just get in. Don't second guess it, don't take it for granted.. just go for it. Because if you never learn to let go of the past's storms, something you've never had to face when sailing the rough weather with THIS boat, a completely different one, that has saved you multiple times, you will lose it. You won't know what you'd lost until it got worn down by how much weight you put on it.. cherish it, take care of it, learn to swim with it. Then, from then on, it'll really be smooth sailing from there. I could start my "good progress" all over.. or, continue sailing; learn to manage the waves better with this new revelation, work with the boat to achieve true glee.. don't let yourself drown when the boat could've saved it all. Don't push the boat away in fear it'll break into pieces, letting you drown. Let yourself travel with the boat to that secret island full of special emotion you'll never feel anywhere else.. freedom, joy, bliss.. excitement, enthusiasm, serenity.. Get to that emerald city Ignore the sketch, it just started as a drawing I was supposed to discard.. I really needed to get this out though..
