The CalaCong. #disasterscontest1

#disasterscontest1 The Calacong are an alien lifeform decended from a late Red-drawf star ---------Behavior---------------- The calacong are neutral animals, tending to shy away from conflict at any given point, they prefer to sleep and eat rather than to attack other creatures. They are omnivorous, spending hours simply foraging for small game and vegetation. During the day, they spend most of their time outside of foraging, basking in the sunlight. whilst during the night, the spend their time roasting upside down in caverns. -----------Physiology----------------- Calacongs have 8 Limbs, 3 sets of legs, and a pair of bat-like wings, measuring in at 8.5 meters in length, with a wingspan of 12 meters. Their feet are two toed, with a 3.5 inch claw on each toe. a long protruding tail drags along behind them, barbed with a purple stinger used in self defense. Dispite their size, they are incredibly stupid, often flying into things when distracted. ----Parental/Courting----- Calacongs reach sexual maturity at roughly 3 years after hatching, and will begin to experience one of two changes. Males: Males will experience Horn growths on the back of their head, to be used in Fighting and display. Females: Females will experience a muscle increase, making them larger and more imposing to scare off unworthy Males, they will also experience the urge to dig into cavern floors, finishing 'nests' at roughly 4 by 4 circle. Upon Laying eggs, females will stay to guard them for around 3-4 months, upon which she will abandon them. Calacong males see infant calacongs as easy meals, and often attack nesting sites for weaker young, hence why all infants are born a deep brown rather than their matured green color. the Surviving young will live in the forests until they are large enough to avoid predation.
